Town Offers More Time to Jenkinsville Property Owners
January 9, 2026
The Town of Queensbury will offer Jenkinsville property owners more time to consider connecting to the new Jenkinsville Water District.
In response to requests from property owners, the Town has extended until Jan. 30 the deadline when signed, notarized easements are due from property owners in Zone 1 of the Jenkinsville Water District.
Supervisor John Strough said: “We recognize this is an important decision coming during a busy time of year with the holidays and travel. The Town is happy to offer a two-week extension to make this process easier for property owners. The deadline for signed, notarized easements will now be Jan. 30, 2026.”
In December, the Town sent letters to Jenkinsville property owners in Zone 1 of the new water district. The Town letter requested the property owners’ permission to install municipal water connections to their homes. A second round of letters, to property owners in Zone 2, is scheduled to be sent in January.
Supervisor Strough also reassured property owners in both zones that the Town of Queensbury will not record the Jenkinsville easements with the Warren County Clerk’s office — and will, in fact, hold them in escrow — until the Jenkinsville and Queensbury water districts are consolidated. If for any reason consolidation does not occur by December 31, 2026, the Town will return easements to Jenkinsville property owners unrecorded.
