Community education forum at Potter Woods Wednesday, June 24, at 5:30 p.m. The forum will feature Forester Tom Gilman of F&W Forestry Services who will discuss the history of the Potter Woods plantation, explain why the red pine was harvested, outline what residents can expect next, and answer questions.
Gilman is a SUNY ESF graduate who has practiced forestry in the Adirondacks for nearly 30 years and worked on the Glens Falls watershed lands for 22 years.
The free event is open to everyone and will begin at the Potter Woods entrance on Potter Road. Attendees should wear comfortable walking shoes, as the session will include walking into the woods.
